New Patients

Welcome to our practice! We look forward to getting to know your family and providing a comfortable, caring environment with expert care. Below is important information to help make your visits enjoyable and stress-free.

Our Hours

Our phones are open 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with lunch from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

Patients are seen during scheduled appointments between 9 AM and 4 PM. We do offer Saturday morning appointments for same-day sick visits only. Please call our office to schedule an appointment before coming in.

Outside of our regular hours, our phones are managed by an answering and nurse triage service. Please follow the voice mail prompts and your call will be routed appropriately. If you are in communication with the nurse triage service, we will follow up with you during regular hours to see how your child is doing and discuss advice or follow up appointments needed.

Your First Visit

Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before your child’s first appointment time, or, even easier, you may print and fill out these forms in advance and bring them with you.

Please provide the following when you arrive:

  • Insurance card.
  • Complete immunization records.
  • Medical records from your previous pediatrician, if applicable.

Appointments

We strive to be both accessible and prompt with your child's appointments. When your child is ill, we can usually give you a same-day appointment. We schedule well visits in advance and work to accommodate your individual scheduling needs. We appreciate your keeping your scheduled appointments, and calling if you are running late or need to reschedule.

Insurance and Billing

We accept most major PPO plans. You can call us to ensure that we are an in-network provider or you can check directly with your insurance company. It is important to us that you be informed about your insurance policy.  We recommend that you research the following key points:

  • Your annual deductible..
  • Hospital coverage, including the birth and hospital stay.
  • Maximum number of well visits during and after the first year of life.
  • Vaccine coverage.
  • Office visit copay.

Our policy is to first obtain a copy of your active insurance card. If a copay is due, it is collected at the time of service.  If you are a cash-pay patient, payment is also collected at that time. If you have insurance, we bill the insurance company first, then send you a statement at the beginning of each month highlighting any payments made or payment due. We appreciate prompt attention to payments due after insurance has paid.

We accept checks, cash or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express) for payment.

Parking

Meter parking in the neighborhood is the cheapest option, but is often tricky to find. Please plan to arrive in the area ahead of your appointmtment time to find a spot AND keep a mindful eye on the street sweeping schedule (Tuesday & Wednesday from 2-4pm). There is also a paid parking lot, LOT H, that is located behind the John Wayne Cancer building. The small entrance driveway is just off Santa Monica Blvd on 21st St. It's an easy walk from the back of our building.
