Friendly Pediatric and Family Care in Santa Monica

Our friendly, experienced providers maintain the highest level of accreditation in pediatrics to address the special needs of infants, children, and teens.  We look forward to building a relationship with you and your family.

Rebecca DiMundo, MD, FAAP

Dr. DiMundo is board certified in Pediatrics and licensed in the state of California.  She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Los Angeles Pediatrics Society.  As the owner of the practice, she shapes the care of each child into a conscious, creative, and family-focused plan that leads children and their parents from infancy through adolesence.

Dr. DiMundo was born and raised in West LA, where she attended local schools (Walgrove Elementary, Mark Twain Junior High, and Venice High School).  After high school, she spent a year living with a family and studying Spanish in Ecuador through the AFS exchange program.  She then attended the University of California, Davis where she obtained degrees in Spanish, Human Development, and Biological Sciences.  Medical School followed at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, then an internship and residency at Women's and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles County - USC, downtown.  The hands-on, academic, and public health focus of her training led to a scholarship with the National Health Service Corps.  Spending almost five years bringing care to underserved communities in first Texas, then Central California, was thrilling and humbling, but ultimately her deisre to be back in Los Angeles and closer to family, brought her home.

Dr. DiMundo is a lucky wife, a mother to three awesome children, a chicken owner, a dog lover, an outdoors woman, and a seamstress who is really bad at cleaning house and getting to the gym.  Her husband, Gavin, (when not seen driving the children about town) wears multiple hats as the office's manager, CFO, assistant biller, supply orderer, Costco runner, and water jug changer.

Jeanne Weiss, MD, FAAP

Dr. Weiss was born in Rochester, New York and is the oldest of eight children.  She obtained her Nursing degree at Keuka College in upstate New York, and worked as a Pediatric ICU nurse for seven years until she decided to study medicine.  She attended the University of California, Irvine for medical school, and then completed her internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.  She first practiced medicine in a large HMO group in Boston, but has spent most of her career bringing care to families in West LA within the private practice setting.

Dr. Weiss is a board certified Pediatrician, licensed in the state of California.  She has additional training and certification in Adolescent Medicine, and is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is married and has two grown daughters who have helped shape her hands-on, attentive care to young children and adolescents.  In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys cooking, crossword puzzles, and editing her daughters' papers.

Dana Ben-Artzi, MD, FAAP

Dr. Ben-Artzi is board certified in Pediatrics and licensed in the state of California. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Ben-Artzi was born in South Africa and then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, when she was twelve.  She graduated from Emory University with Highest Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology.  She then continued on to medical school at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, and completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.  Since then, she has participated in the Healing Hearts Across Borders and International Medical Relief programs in Mexico and Kenya respectively.  She took a job in Seattle, Washington for the first few years following her residency, where whe was partner in a large multi-disciplinary medical group.  She recently married and relocated to Los Angeles, joining our office in October 2012.

She speaks fluent Hebrew and intermediate level Spanish.  In her spare time she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including rock climbing, hiking, paddleboarding, snowboarding, swimming, and running.  She is happy to be back in Southern California where she can enjoy the ourdoors yearround.

Jenna Roberts, MD, FAAP

Dr. Roberts was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She attended Yale University, and then the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. After 10 years on the East Coast, she decided to return to her roots and completed her residency in pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She stayed on for a year after as Chief Resident, and then joined the general pediatric community in Santa Monica. She joined us at Morningside Pediatrics in July 2013. She is still active in the teaching community, mentoring UCLA medical students, and teaching UCLA pediatric residents. She is a member of the Los Angeles Pediatric Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, and is on staff at St. John’s Health Center and UCLA/Santa Monica Medical Center.

Dr. Jenna resides in Los Angeles, just a mile from where she grew up, with her wonderful husband, Gerry, twin babies, Connor and Fiona, and their dog, Ruby.

Vania Nguyen, MD, FAAP

Dr. Nguyen is a Board-Certified pediatrician, licensed in the State of California, and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Nguyen (roughly pronounced 'nwin') was born in Vietnam and raised in the Washington, D.C. area.  She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's and a Ph.D. in engineering and subsequently ventured out West to teach.  After four years as a professor at CSU Long Beach, she heeded the call of medicine and went back to school to obtain her M.D. at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

After completing her residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Nguyen moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she was a general pediatrician with the University of Michigan and a pediatric hospitalist at St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.  Although she enjoyed shoveling snow and frequently falling on black ice, after 5 years in the Midwest, she decided to return to Southern California, where she joined the practice in 2013.

Dr. Nguyen currently resides in Santa Monica with her husband and two children.  In her spare time, she enjoys trying to play acoustic guitar, going to indie music shows, and being a chauffeur and roadie for her children.
